How do you sum up your years in a paragraph? After completing university I became a high school teacher; then a business woman who was responsible for buying, promoting and marketing in a retail music business; I dabbled in marketing for community organizations ;
and now I am pursuing writing. Professionally I am still a teacher, but my heart and passion are in words. Under the Covid 19 days of isolation I sought solace in expressing and then sharing my ideas. The result became my memoir The Half Story. I doubt that it would have been written if we were all not locked down and forced into deep reflection.
While we all look forward to doing the things that make us happy we have also been given the chance to find new beginnings, to seek out options that never would have surfaced in the old normal. The ideas I explored in my book continue to grow here.
I have learned that "work' doesn't have to be the definition of who we are; finding something that challenges you and makes the day far brighter is the path ahead. And yes, there may be pebbles along the way.
If you are visiting here then I consider you part of my community. These entries and stories are made even more special by your feedback. I encourage you to reflect and comment if you wish.
Community is sharing, be it words, pot lucks, coffee and donuts, a "Hey hi, how are you?' or just hugs. So much of that has been on hold because of the pandemic and therefore it is what many of us crave. With all that in mind I have created this site to be the vessel for the ideas I wish to share. Picture a table laden with platters of 'food for thought'- take what you wish and add a glass of wine as well,
I do hope to bring some 'AHA' moments to you along the way.
